Job summary

FMOL Health seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians with examinations and treatment, taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and preparing charts. You will coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, procedures, tests and referrals, while maintaining high standards of patient care.

Under supervision of the physician and clinic manager, you will assist with regulatory compliance and ensure HIPAA practices are followed, contributing to a smoothly run clinic with a focus on quality

Qualifications

• Completion of a medical assistant program or 1 year experience in a clinical capacity.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Computer literacy; proficient in Microsoft Outlook and EHR systems.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, obtains vital signs and records information in charts.
• Assists with examinations, treatments and minor procedures under physician supervision.
• Coordinates patient flow, schedules appointments, tests and referrals.
• Triages calls and manages prescriptions per provider's direction.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and safe handling of patient information.
• Prepares exam rooms, inventories supplies, and assists with specimen handling.
