Job summary

The Children's Hospital of Richmond Gastroenterology Clinic at VCU Health is seeking a licensed clinical social worker to provide direct patient care, psychosocial assessment, and discharge planning for pediatric GI patients. The role emphasizes collaboration with schools, CPS, and community resources, while supporting families through complex care coordination.

Ideal candidates will have a MSW from an accredited program, Virginia licensure, and at least 3 years of social work experience,

Qualifications

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia preferred
• CSW Level 3 requires minimum 3 years of clinical social work experience, with at least 1 year in a specialty area
• Acute care experience preferred
• Master of Social Work with CSWE-accredited program required

Responsibilities

• Perform psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans aligned with the overall health care plan
• Provide psychosocial interventions and supportive counseling to patients and families
• Educate patients, families, staff, and social work students
• Coordinate discharge planning and community referrals
• Collaborate with schools, child protective services, legal resources, and other agencies
• Participate in team meetings and quality improvement activities
