Mercy is seeking a compassionate Genetic Counselor to join the Mercy Kids Center for Neurodevelopment and Mercy Kids Autism Center in Chesterfield, MO. This role provides genetic counseling across autism, pediatric neurology, and inpatient pediatric populations.

The position offers 0.4 FTE at the Autism Center and 0.6 FTE in Child Neurology, with full-time hours overall. It emphasizes collaboration with physicians and care teams, education, research, and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Genetic Counseling or Human/Medical Genetics.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible through ABGC/ABMG or eligible.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Customer service and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work with patients, families, physicians, and teams.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide genetic counseling, risk assessment, and education for patients and families.
• Coordinate genetic testing, labs, amniocentesis, screening, and diagnostic testing.
• Maintain patient records and prepare consultation summaries for providers.
• Educate residents, students, and staff; develop patient education materials.
• Support research initiatives and quality improvement activities.
• Ensure privacy, safety, and compliance with Mercy policies.
