Job summary

• Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
• Excellent teaching and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach medical students and pediatric and adult neurology residents.
• Provide clinical pediatric neurology services as a non-tenure track clinician who also teaches.
• Collaborate with the Department of Pediatrics and other departments; participate in research discussions when possible.

Job description

The University of Minnesota seeks a new faculty member who is board-certified or board-eligible to join the Division of Pediatric Neurology in the Department of Neurology. After a recent expansion, our division now includes 7 pediatric neurology faculty members, an advanced practitioner, pediatric neurology residency and we are dedicated to further growth and an elevated academic profile. The opening is for a non-tenure track clinician who also has an interest in teaching. Clinical research interests may be accommodated.

Our faculty are actively engaged in the teaching of medical students, adult and pediatric neurology residents, and pediatric residents, with abundant opportunities to mentor other learners. Our division is an integral component of the Department of Neurology, which has robust research, education, and clinical activities and resources. The Department had over $20 million in NIH funding in 2025. We also collaborate actively with the Department of Pediatrics in all these domains, and have strong relationships with other departments.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: This role is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. Salary at the University of Minnesota is dependent upon academic effort of the person hired, and begins at $55,000 ($44,000 at .8 FTE). Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through the University of Minnesota Physicians. Total salary is competitive with market and based on AAMC salary benchmarks.
