Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is hiring a Formula Room Technician for the University of Virginia Children's Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. The role trains in accurate and safe preparation of specialty formulas for hospitalized infants and children, coordinating with dietitians and nurses.

The position requires high school diploma or equivalent, healthcare certification preferred, and proficiency with Excel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree, healthcare certification (MA, CNA, PCT, DTR, etc) or higher preferred.
• Prior experience in healthcare, nutrition, medical lab, or formula/milk room preferred.
• Experience with Excel and Word preferred.
• Must read, write, and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Accurate screening and identification of formula orders requiring preparation.
• Use of Excel to accurately prepare patient formula labels.
• Responsible for the preparation, labeling, storage and delivery of all prepared formulas for NICU and pediatric units.
• Demonstrate accurate and consistent measuring and mixing procedures using aseptic technique.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations and standards.
• Document clearly and accurately on all formula log sheets and temperature log sheets.
• Communicate with nursing staff and/or dietitians for daily order changes and feeding order clarification.
• Communicates with supply chain staff to ensure necessary inventory.
• Comply with federal, state, accrediting agencies and HIPAA regulations.
