Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform complex flow cytometry tests, maintain instruments, and support quality controls. You’ll analyze cells, assist pathologists, and help train staff, with weekend coverage one to two per month.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related field, 3 years in an accredited lab and 1 year in Flow Cytometry, ASCP MT eligibility, and strong teamwork to support pediatric diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or equivalent per CLIA 88 requirements.
• Experience in accredited clinical laboratory (3 years).
• Experience in Flow Cytometry (1 year).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine procedures following SOPs.
• Operate and troubleshoot flow cytometry instruments.
• Collect bone marrow specimens as needed.
• Train new staff and maintain QC records.
• Report results and communicate instrument issues with pathologists.
