Job summary

The St. David’s North Austin Medical Center in Austin, TX is seeking a PRN Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to support Pediatrics.

You will provide expert clinical care for infants, children and adolescents, and help families understand options, risks and care plans for their child. You will attend deliveries, perform neonatal stabilization and admission assessments, develop and revise plans of care, communicate changes to the care team, administer medications, support transport, supervise

Qualifications

• 2 years of RN experience in two of the following pediatrics areas: PICU, PED/ER, Med-Surg, or Neonatal ICU.
• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Texas RN license (or Compact) within 90 days of hire.
• BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS per policy; additional certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend deliveries and perform neonatal stabilization and admission assessments.
• Create and revise care plans, including discharge planning.
• Continuously assess infants and communicate changes to the care team.
• Administer medications and perform treatments per policy.
• Support transport teams and document transfer readiness.
• Delegate tasks to non-licensed staff per standards of practice.
• Provide education and emotional support tailored to age, culture, and family.
