Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) in Pediatrics for PRN opportunities.

You will deliver clinical expertise and compassionate care for infants, children, and adolescents while supporting families in their choices and concerns. Responsibilities include neonatal stabilization at deliveries, developing and updating care plans, ongoing infant assessments, medication administration, and coordinating with Neonatology and Nurse Practitioners.

Qualifications

• RN with pediatric focus and recent clinical nursing experience.
• Experience in two of the following areas: PICU, Pediatric ED, Pediatric Med/Surg, Neonatal ICU.
• Active Texas RN license or Compact license; if compact, must obtain full TX license within 90 days.
• Current BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS prior to or upon hire; RNC-NIC and CPEN/CCRN/CPN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend deliveries and perform neonatal stabilization and admission assessments.
• Create and revise care plans including discharge planning; evaluate effectiveness.
• Conduct ongoing newborn assessments and communicate changes to physicians.
• Administer medications and perform treatments per policy.
• Support transport teams in stabilization and documentation for transfers.
• Delegate tasks to non-licensed staff per standards of practice.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families; integrate teaching into nursing care.
