Job summary

Connecticut Children’s is seeking a float nurse to provide general or specialized nursing care across ambulatory settings. The role requires travel to all Connecticut Children’s locations, including distal satellite offices, with assignments ranging from half-days to weeks based on department needs.

You will deliver care per professional standards, document thoroughly, educate families, and advocate for patients while aligning with CCMC policies and state/federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Must possess a nursing diploma or degree from an accredited nursing program for registered nurses.
• BSN preferred; If Diploma or ADN, BSN must be acquired within 3 years of hire date.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience.
• Medical Surgical / Pediatrics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct family-centered care to patients across ambulatory settings.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to evaluate outcomes and monitor progress.
• Educate patients and families regarding care and medications; provide telephone advice per protocols.
• Document care plans, status summaries and significant events according to CCMC policies.
• Travel to multiple Connecticut Children’s locations as needed, including distal satellite offices.
