Job summary

Connecticut Children’s is seeking a professional nurse to provide direct pediatric care during assigned shifts, following standards of practice and CCMC policies. The role involves planning care for a defined patient population with accountability to the Nurse Manager and leaders.

The position includes clinical practice in med-surg and ICU float assignments, leadership, documentation, and patient/family education while collaborating with the health care team to ensure safe, effective pediatric

Qualifications

• Experience and skill in pediatric nursing using the nursing process.
• Strong communication and teamwork with health-care teams.
• Clinical decision making within nursing standards and CCMC policies.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical expertise and uses the nursing process to provide safe, appropriate patient care for a defined population.
• Competently cares for all patients in med-surg and float assignments in the ICUs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of population-specific differences and needs of pediatric patients.
