Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduation from a medical assistant or EMT program or licensing exception for certification.
• One of the listed national certifications: CCMA, CMA-AAMA, CMA-C, NCMA, NRCMA, RMA-..., EMT variants, LIC PAR, BLS.

Responsibilities

• Assess and provide direct care to patients (0–18 years, and adults as needed).
• Collect and document vital signs, BMI, height/weight and visit reason with accuracy.
• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatments and testing.
• Document and administer medications and immunizations as directed.
• Support patient self-management and education.
• Float to Texas Children's Hospital locations in the Houston area.
