Job summary

MercyOne is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN to provide high-quality care for acutely ill and injured patients. You will educate families, advocate for patients, and precept new staff while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include rapid assessment, planning, and documentation, ensuring continuity of care. Strong critical thinking and communication are essential in a fast-paced ED environment.

Qualifications

• Current IA or compact RN license required.
• BLS certification must be active within 6 weeks of hire.
• ACLS required within 6 months; TNCC within 12 months.
• PALS required within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional emergency nursing care to acutely ill or injured patients.
• Educate patients and families and serve as advocate and liaison.
• Precept new employees and students; supervise ED technicians.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care; document thoroughly.
• Respond quickly to emergent situations and coordinate care with the team.
