Job summary

Miami Children’s Hospital is seeking an LPN for Emergency Services on a full-time, day shift. The role requires nursing care for neonates to adolescents under RN supervision in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities include vital signs, specimen handling, EKGs, CPR, IV therapy, and discharge teaching, with emphasis on safe, error-free care and adherence to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse in Florida with active license.
• BLS certification required and current.
• CPI training within one year preferred.
• PALS certification required within 2 years.
• Background check completed prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments, vitals, and document findings.
• Assist with specimens, labs, EKGs, CPR and procedures.
• Provide point-of-care testing and document results in EMR.
• Support RN and manage patient flow to improve throughput.
• Administer medications and assist with IV therapy.
• Communicate hand-offs at shift changes and transfers.
• Assist with discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
• Document nursing interventions and patient responses in EMR.
