Job summary

Adventist HealthCare in Rockville, MD is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Emergency Department. This part-time evening role focuses on delivering high-quality care to pediatric patients and supporting the ED team.

The ideal candidate has an ASN, pediatric experience, and current MD RN license with BLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP as required. You will educate families, mentor staff, and participate in care planning.

Qualifications

• ASN is required; BSN preferred
• 1 year ER RN experience or 2 years acute care experience
• Pediatric experience preferred
• Maryland RN license active
• BLS required; ACLS/PALS/NRP as required by specialty area
• NCLEX passing score required

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families through the continuum of care.
• Serve as a role model to Level I nurses and other staff.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards of practice.
• Use equipment and technology correctly and delegate non-nursing duties.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues, and team members in patient-centered care.

Adventist Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for their Pediatric Emergency Department. This part-time evening position is ideal for those passionate about providing high-quality care to pediatric patients.

What You’ll Do

• Educate patients and families through the continuum of care.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards of practice.

• Identify impending changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues, and team members in patient-centered care.

• Conduct efficient literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in change of practice.

Requirements

Education:

• Associate of Science degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Experience:

• 1 year of current Emergency Department RN experience or 2 years related acute care experience preferred
• Pediatric experience preferred

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current Maryland State nursing license
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area
• Passing score on NCLEX
