Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center in Montgomery County, MD, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Emergency Department. The nurse will educate patients and families, mentor staff, and ensure care plans align with evidence and ANA standards.

Responsibilities include role modeling for Level I nurses, using electronic resources, and participating in continuous improvement while working night shifts on a 36‑hour weekly schedule and earning competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing NCLEX is required.
• Current Maryland state nursing license and BLS.
• ACLS, PALS and NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families through the continuum of care and guide less experienced nurses.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards and Adventist HealthCare values.
• Use equipment correctly and delegate non-nursing duties to maximize efficiency.
• Develop care plans according to patient population and monitor condition changes.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient‑centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding and apply literature findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for practice improvement and participate in evidence‑based changes.
