Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD seeks an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to support Adventist HealthCare’s mission of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As an ED RN, you will educate patients and families, serve as a role model to Level I nurses, adhere to ANA standards, and employ evidence-based practice to deliver safe, patient-centered care during night shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing NCLEX exam.
• Current Maryland RN license.
• AHA BLS certification active.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care while also advancing their knowledge and skills.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and support best practices using electronic resources.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards while fulfilling our nursing mission.
• Use equipment and technology correctly and maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify impending changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in change of practice based on evidence.

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Passing score on NCLEX

Current Maryland State nursing license

Active American Heart Association BLS certification

ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area
