Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Pediatric Emergency Department in rotating shifts. You will provide age-specific direct care under the supervision of the RN or licensed practitioner, ensuring safety and comfort for each patient.

Responsibilities include monitoring patients, collecting data (vital signs, intake/output), and maintaining a clean, well-stocked environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferred CNA certification is advantageous.
• BLS HCP certification or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a healthcare environment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, age-specific care under RN direction.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to health care team.
• Maintain a safe, clean, stocked clinical area to support care.
• Record vital signs, intake/output, and other patient data.
• Attend mandatory trainings and follow safety policies.

Education
