VCU Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct, age-specific care under the direction of the RN or licensed practitioner. The role involves support and basic clinical tasks, with shifts across all three positions to cover weekends and holidays.

Candidates should meet CNA/EMT/MA education requirements and may have related care partner or military corpsman experience. Salary ranges $17.25 to $24.12 per hour, commensurate with credentials and experience.

Formación

• Completion of state recognized CNA program; or
• Completion of first semester junior year in an accredited BSN program dependent upon school curriculum (e.g., VCU/MCV BSN students - completion of sophomore year, Nursing 201, 202, 261).
• Accredited Associate Degree and Diploma programs - completion of first year or two semesters of basic nursing courses.
• Completion of EMT program; or Completion of medical assistant program; or
• One year of medical assistant work experience within the last three years; or
• One year of care partner or equivalent work experience within the last three years; or
• One year of military corpsman experience within the last three years

Responsabilidades

• Functions under direction of a licensed independent practitioner, manager and/or RN in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem solving; all in accordance with hospital, nursing and unit policy/procedure.
• Requires prior approval or guidance from supervisor: time/schedule changes; legal issues; directed care which deviates from standard; and identify educational resources to meet developmental needs.
• Job duties may include the handling, transportation, access to and/or contact with medications and related supplies.
