Job summary

Connecticut Children’s Medical Center is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join their pediatric inpatient unit on the night shift. The role supports direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including feeding, hygiene, vitals, specimens, and transport.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, with CNA/EMT preferences and pediatric experience favored. BLS/CPR is required on hire, and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training must be completed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA certification preferred; EMT by CT preferred.
• BLS/CPR for adult, child & infant required on hire.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training within 3 months of hire.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• Nurse aide training enrollment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in inpatient unit under RN supervision.
• Assist with feeding, hygiene, ambulation, and activities of daily living.
• Obtain vital signs, tests, and specimens as required.
• Apply splints and assist with basic wound care.
• Transport patients and assist with admissions and discharges.
• Maintain unit supplies and equipment; perform clerical tasks as needed.
• Accurately document patient information in electronic health records.
