Job summary

Connecticut Childrens Medical Center in Hartford, CT seeks an ED Behavioral Health Nurse for the 24-hour night shift. Under general supervision, you will provide direct professional nursing care for patients with behavioral health needs, while ensuring safety, documentation, and collaboration with the healthcare team.

The role requires ASN with BSN preferred within 3 years, CT RN licensure, BLS, PALS within 6 months, and crisis intervention training; experience in pediatrics or behavioral

Qualifications

• Broad nursing knowledge and clinical judgment.
• Experience in pediatric and/or behavioral health settings preferred.
• CT RN licensure required upon hire and maintained thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct professional nursing care per standards of practice.
• Apply knowledge of behavioral health needs to patient care.
• Support teamwork and safety through clear communication.
• Complete documentation timely per policy and standards.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and treatments.
• Adhere to Connecticut Children’s standards in daily practice.
• Lead or participate in unit activities and mentorship as assigned.
