Job summary

Connecticut Children’s is seeking a patient care assistant to support an inpatient pediatric unit under RN supervision. You will assist with direct care, personal needs, vital signs, and basic wound care, while documenting in electronic health records and helping with transport and clerical tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR/BLS on hire, and certification or training as CNA/PCA; bilingual abilities are a plus in a diverse pediatric environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CT CNA certification preferred; BLS/CPR required on hire.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to communicate in English; bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision on an inpatient unit.
• Assist with feeding, personal care, vital signs, and specimen collection.
• Transport patients and assist with admissions/discharges.
• Perform basic wound care and apply dressings as directed.
• Document patient information in electronic health records.
• Maintain unit supplies and assist with clerical tasks.
