Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Wilmington, DE is seeking an ED Tech with EMT certification to assist in pediatric emergency care. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Specialized (1 year of training beyond High School).
• American Heart Association BLS certification required on hire.
• DE EMT certification required on hire.
• PEARS certification obtained on hire.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in emergency/dependent setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general activities in the Emergency Department and support the health care team in patient care under RN guidance.
• Assess patients using pediatric assessment triangle and monitor for changes in condition.
• Assist Rapid Assessment nurse with vitals, wound care, POCT, and medication interventions.
• Assist with patient transport, monitor vitals, and ensure C-spine safety.
• Room patients by acuity, document changes, and coordinate with Flow Supervisor.
• Support procedures: lumbar puncture, IV access, laceration repairs, suctioning, catheterization, POCT.
• Perform EKGs, nasal washes, flu testing, and phlebotomy including bilirubin and newborn screen tests.
