Job summary

Children's National Medical Center in Richmond, VA seeks a Sr. Echocardiography Technologist to perform advanced echocardiograms, including fetal studies, in a high-volume pediatric cardiology lab.

You will independently handle complex cases, collaborate with physicians and nurses, mentor junior staff, and contribute to research and telemedicine initiatives while upholding stringent quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• HD/GED required; pediatric cardiology experience preferred.
• 3 years of cardiology experience; 1 year pediatric echo in an echo lab under a pediatric cardiologist.
• ARDMS or CCI certification and BLS required.
• Registered pediatric sonography credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform echoes on complex congenital heart disease patients, including fetal echos, in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Perform all required modalities for standard/research echos according to protocol; handle Holter/EKG hookups as needed.
• Participate in research activities, telemedicine, and mentor junior techs/fellows on best practices.
• Maintain equipment, ensure clean labs, and support regional centers with timely data entry and billing.
