Job summary

Riley Hospital for Children is seeking an entry-level Full-Time Dental Assistant to support the pediatric dental team in a busy clinical setting. Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with no weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements, offering a stable daytime schedule.

The role involves assisting dentists, maintaining sterile instruments, taking radiographs, and guiding families through care and insurance information.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 0-3 years of relevant dental assisting experience.
• BLS-CPR certification is required.
• Active Indiana Dental Radiology License within 9 months of hire.
• Certification in Dental Assisting from an accredited program or on-the-job training with 2+ years experience.
• Excellent communication and ability to work with diverse patient populations.
• Ability to work with pediatric patients, including uncooperative children.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care services under supervision of a dentist.
• Assist with patient intake data, medical history, and treatment documentation.
• Prepare instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
• Obtain diagnostic dental x-rays using safe radiology practices.
• Support patient flow and provide education to patients and families.
• Perform administrative duties and schedule patient visits.
