Job summary

A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) seeks a full-time Dental Assistant for the Pediatric Clinic on the Mesa, Arizona campus.

You will chairside assist, manage supplies, maintain operatories, ensure sterilization workflows, participate in meetings, and support CPR and X-ray certification maintenance.

This role requires 2–3 years of experience, CDA preferred, and proficiency with electronic health records.

Qualifications

• Must be CPR and X-Ray certified.
• 2-3 years of dental assisting experience; CDA preferred.
• At least one year experience with electronic health records (EHR) software.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and HIPAA regulations.
• Professional appearance and strong communication and organizational skills.
• Flexible and able to adapt to changing assignments.
• Works well independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist students and/or faculty chairside.
• Maintain supply levels.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of operatories.
• Maintain suction Lines and DUWL.
• Weekly meetings with students.
• Responsible for clinic department closure, e.g., transport instruments to sterilization, computer/monitor shutdown, close vertical blinds, turn N2O off, organize operatories, etc., as assigned/necessary.
• Participate in staff meetings and other departmental meetings.
• Provide feedback on supply usage and possible cost-saving measures.
• Continuing education course attendance.
• CPR certification course to maintain current CPR certification.
• Process biopsies (Oral/Perio Surgery).
