Job summary

A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) on the Mesa campus is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant.

You will chairside assist students and faculty, maintain operatories, manage supplies and participate in staff meetings, with opportunities for continuing education and adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards. CPR and X-ray certification required; 2-3 years of dental assisting experience preferred (CDA a plus); proficiency with electronic

Qualifications

• Must be CPR and X-Ray certified.
• 2–3 years of dental assisting experience; CDA preferred.
• At least 1 year electronic health records software experience.
• Knowledgeable in OSHA standards, aseptic procedures, HIPAA regulations, sterilization, infection control, and all dental procedures and supplies.
• Professional appearance and strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
• Must be flexible, able to change assignments with little direction.
• Must work well independently and in a group environment.

Responsibilities

A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) is seeking a full-time non-exempt Dental Assistant on the Mesa, Arizona campus.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist students and/or faculty chairside.
• Maintain supply levels.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of operatories.
• Maintain suction Lines and DUWL.
• Weekly meetings with students.
• Responsible for clinic department closure, i.e, transport instruments to sterilization, computer/monitor shutdown, close vertical blinds, turn N2O off, organize operatories, etc., as assigned/necessary.
• Participate in staff meetings and other departmental meetings.
• Provide feedback on supply usage and possible cost-saving measures.
• Continuing education course attendance.
• CPR certification course to maintain current CPR certification.
• Process biopsies (Oral/Perio Surgery).

Requirements

• Must be CPR and X-Ray certified.
• Must have 2-3 years of previous dental assisting experience, CDA preferred.
• At least one year electronic health records software experience.
