Job summary

Lever, Inc. in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our family-focused practice. You will support the clinical team through chairside assistance, sterilization, radiography, and patient education to create a positive experience for children and families.

You will prep rooms, assist with procedures, manage supplies, and maintain accurate records while upholding OSHA and HIPAA guidelines in a fast-paced pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• Prior dental assisting experience preferred (pediatric experience a plus).
• Dental Assistant certification as required by state.
• X-ray certification (if applicable by state).
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• Experience with dental software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, etc.) preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during a variety of pediatric dental procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care.
• Take and record dental radiographs (X-rays) in compliance with state regulations.
• Ensure proper sterilization and infection control protocols are followed.
• Comfort and guide pediatric patients, creating a positive experience.
• Provide chairside assistance including suctioning, instrument transfer, and charting.
• Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Support office flow by preparing rooms and turning over operatories efficiently.
• Assist with inventory management and stocking of clinical supplies.
• Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, and company policies and procedures.
