Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking an RN Education Specialist to design, implement, and evaluate clinical education for nurses, promoting professional development and evidence-based practice to improve patient and family care.

The role requires a BSN with Master’s preferred, GA RN license, BLS within 30 days, PALS/PEARS within 1 year, and cardiovascular OR experience. You will lead onboarding, competency programs, and ongoing staff development.

Qualifications

• BSN required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Two years of cardiovascular OR experience.
• RN licensure in GA; BLS within 30 days, PALS/PEARS within one year as required by department specifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing process across the continuum to deliver age- and developmentally appropriate patient-family-centered care.
• Utilizes clinical decision support tools to recognize issues, prioritize care, and modify the plan of care as needed.
• Supports the environment for delivery of care and acts as a clinical resource in the patient population.
• Maintains competence to provide and/or assist with clinical care; may serve as unit leader on shift in absence of manager.
• Drives and facilitates admission, transfer, and discharge with collaboration among physicians, interprofessional team, and leadership.
