Job summary

Advocate Children’s Hospital – Park Ridge, IL seeks a Pediatric Critical Care Advanced Practice Practitioner to join a high-performing PICU team. The role covers 12-hour shifts, days/nights, with weekend and holiday coverage in a collaborative, academic-style environment.

Requires Pediatric Acute Care Certified APRN or PA, with prior pediatric critical care experience. FNPs are not eligible. 36-hour weekly schedule and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Pediatric Acute Care Certified APRN or Physician Assistant required.
• Prior pediatric critical care experience preferred.
• Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP) are not eligible for this role.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide direct care for critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.
• Collaborate with attending physicians, residents, fellows, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Share patient care responsibilities with APPs to manage census (~one-third).
• Maintain high-quality, patient-centered care within a team-based model.
