Job summary

Great Bay Staffing Group is seeking a Daycare-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Birmingham, AL to support infants, toddlers, and preschoolers under an OTR. The role focuses on fine motor, sensory processing, and self-help skills through play-based therapy in a daycare setting.

You will collaborate with teachers and staff, monitor progress, document sessions, and communicate with families, offering home activity guidance and strategies to reinforce goals.

Qualifications

• Must have ACOTE-accredited OTA degree and active Alabama COTA license.
• NBCOT certification in good standing is required.
• Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain on hire.
• Experience with infants, toddlers, or early childhood populations is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct pediatric therapy delivery for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers under supervision of an OTR.
• Deliver play-based, age-appropriate skill-building activities in daycare and classroom settings.
• Collaborate with daycare teachers, educators, and support staff during routines and transitions.
• Monitor progress, document sessions, and contribute to progress updates and team meetings.
• Select and adjust adaptive equipment and sensory tools to support development.
• Communicate with families, provide home activity guidance and reinforcement strategies.
