Job summary

Medical Society of Delaware seeks a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The role combines patient care with vital administrative support to keep the clinic operating smoothly in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

You will measure vitals, assist with examinations, provide emergency support, and maintain patient records. Knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, and EHR systems will help you contribute to high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Certification as Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required.
• Experience in outpatient or inpatient settings preferred.
• Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and staff alike.
• Familiar with Delaware immunization programs (VFC) a MUST.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse).
• Assist with patient examinations and procedures in clinic and inpatient environments.
• Provide emergency medicine support when necessary to ensure patient safety.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with medical coding as required.
• Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and answering questions.
• Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Conduct routine laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures.
• Uphold cleanliness and organization within the clinic environment.
