Job summary

MUSC Summey Medical Pavilion, part of the Shawn Jenkin’s Children’s Hospital at MUSC, operates as a pediatric outpatient clinic with walk-in After Hours Care. The CMA/LPN reports to the Ambulatory Services Manager and performs multi-skilled activities to support patient-centered care, including examining patients, taking vital signs, and documenting in medical records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with 1 year of patient care preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in examination and treatment of pediatric patients under physician supervision.
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record data in medical records.
• Prepare treatment rooms for examinations and procedures.
• Schedule and cover at least one 8-hour shift every 6-week schedule period as needed.
