Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking a PRN Activity Coordinator to provide therapeutic and diversionary play for pediatric patients and siblings. You will support family-centered care and collaborate with Child Life specialists and staff in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires an Associate’s Degree in Child development or related field and 1 year of related experience (or two years of college). Evening/weekend shifts are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Child development or related field required.
• 1 year related experience working with children or 2 years of college in child development or related field required.
• Knowledge of child and adolescent growth, strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, facilitate and supervise group and spontaneous play for pediatric patients and siblings.
• Organize monthly activity calendars to promote socialization and family involvement.
• Provide one-on-one interaction and support to patients as directed by Child Life Specialist.
• Maintain safe, welcoming play spaces and ensure equipment is cleaned and documented.
