Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando seeks an experienced PA-C/APRN to join the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery team as a key advanced practice provider. You will deliver comprehensive perioperative care, assist in complex cardiothoracic procedures, and travel to outreach clinics as needed.

The role emphasizes collaboration with surgeons, nurses, perfusionists, and other clinicians to optimize outcomes for congenital heart patients across perioperative phases and long-term follow-up.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in an accredited PA or APRN program.
• Current license or eligibility in Florida as PA or APRN.
• Certification: PA-C or APRN certification (NCCPA or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative management of congenital cardiac surgery patients.
• Serve as first assist in pediatric and adult congenital cardiothoracic procedures.
• Travel to outreach clinics to evaluate patients independently or with supervision.
• Perform histories, physicals, and preoperative evaluations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, ECGs, echo, chest X-ray, CT/MRI).
• Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds in CVICU and hospital settings.
• Develop and implement treatment plans and manage postoperative care.
• Perform bedside procedures within scope (e.g., chest tube removal, vascular access).
• Coordinate transfers, consultations, and continuity of care across the center.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, perfusionists, respiratory therapists, and staff.
