Job summary

Advocate Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL, seeks a highly skilled Advanced Practice Professional (NP or PA-C) to join the Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery team. This full-time role includes first-assist in complex pediatric cardiothoracic procedures, and comprehensive pre- and post-operative management for critically ill children.

Applicants must hold a PA license, NCCPA certification, active DEA registration, IL licensure requirements, a Bachelor’s in PA, and APP experience in pediatric CV

Qualifications

• Active PA license(s) in state(s) of practice and NCCPA certification.
• Active DEA registration.
• Active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire (for IL practice).
• Active BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical practice.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage treatment plans for pediatric CV patients.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies and therapies.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure outcomes.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for pediatric patients.
• Participate in on-call coverage and after-hours rotations.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and compliant coding.
