Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami, FL seeks a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join the Cardiac ICU team, providing inpatient management for critically ill pediatric patients with cardiac conditions.

You will perform rounds, order tests, and collaborate with cardiologists and intensivists to develop and implement comprehensive care plans, educate families, and ensure timely documentation and transitions from admission to discharge.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or DNP in nursing is required or preferred.
• Active Florida APRN license in good standing.
• PNCB certification for Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
• American Heart Association BLS/PALS/ACLS required.
• Level II background check clearance.
• Experience as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts rounds and oversees the care plan for pediatric cardiac ICU patients.
• Leads coordination of complex care from admission to discharge.
• Reviews patient records prior to admission and documents plans.
• Educates parents/caregivers on discharge and wellness planning.
• Writes orders and monitors therapies within established protocols.
• Ensures timely clinical documentation and handoff communications.
