Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System in Miami, Florida seeks a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to lead inpatient care in the Cardiac ICU. Collaborate with cardiology and intensivists to provide comprehensive care for critically ill pediatric patients, perform rounds, order studies, and manage medications within approved protocols.

You will educate families on discharge planning, coordinate transitions of care, and ensure timely documentation and handoffs with a patient-centric approach.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or DNP in nursing is required.
• Valid Florida APRN license and active certification are required.
• Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification must be maintained.
• BLS/PALS/ACLS certification must be active throughout employment.
• A Level II background check is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient management of critically ill pediatric cardiac patients.
• Collaborate with cardiology/intensivist teams and document care in EMR.
• Conduct rounds, order/interpret studies, and manage medications per protocol.
• Educate families on discharge planning and transition of care.
• Ensure timely, accurate clinical documentation and handoffs.

Education

Master's Degree of Nursing or DNP

Valid State of Florida APRN license

American Heart Association BLS
