Job summary

Nicklaushealth in Miami seeks a Pediatric Hospital Medicine APRN to manage patients within the Clinical Observation Unit (COU). You will participate in rounds, coordinate care with physicians, and document in the EMR, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.

You will communicate with families, act as educator and advocate, and maintain excellent time management and clinical documentation within established protocols, including rotating shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited school.
• Valid State of Florida APRN License—active.
• FNP or PNP certification by a recognized board.
• American Heart Association PALS—active.
• American Heart Association BLS—active.
• Credentialing by NCHS Medical Administration required.
• Level II Background Check completed.

Responsibilities

• Conducts medical rounds in collaboration with attending physician and documents plan.
• Communicates with families, provides advocacy and education.
• Maintains timely clinical documentation and orderly charting.
• Mentors peers and colleagues to improve patient outcomes.
• Delivers developmentally appropriate care for pediatric patients.
• Integrates data to guide orders, referrals, and treatments.
