Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer for a day shift in Georgia. The role involves performing pediatric and adult echocardiograms, including stress and transesophageal studies where applicable, with on-call weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities include imaging, data interpretation support, patient prep, and clear communication with patients and the health care team, while maintaining safety and privacy standards across the Echo department.

Qualifications

• Requires excellent communication with physicians, patients and staff.
• Minimum 1 year echocardiography experience; pediatric skills preferred.
• ARDMS or Cardiac Sonographer credentials required upon hire per policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform all cardiac imaging, including transthoracic, transesophageal (if at your facility) and stress echocardiograms.
• Verify clinician orders and obtain complete patient history prior to procedures.
• Ensure patient safety, privacy and comfort; follow infection control policies and department procedures.
• Operate ultrasound equipment; prepare, analyze and review images; document findings.
• Communicate preliminary findings to interpretting physician when requested and assist with patient education.
