Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform adult and pediatric echocardiograms and related imaging. You will assess patient history, follow lab protocols, and provide a concise summary of findings to the interpreting physician.

The role requires communication with patients and the health care team, and entails on-call, weekend, and holiday rotation. Responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, maintaining equipment, and adhering to infection control policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum education includes a high school diploma or GED.
• Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred and ARDMS/RCS/RDCS certification valued.
• BLS or ARC-BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs cardiac imaging and echocardiograms.
• Communicates preliminary findings to physicians.
• Ensures patient safety, privacy and comfort.
• Completes preprocedural verification and Time Out as needed.
• Maintains equipment and follows infection control policies.
