The University of Texas at Austin's Dell Medical School and Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas seek an experienced pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist to join the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease.

Candidates should be board certified in Anesthesia and Pediatric Anesthesia with additional training in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia; responsibilities include pre-, intra-, and post-operative care, protocol development, QI registries, education, and outreach.

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
• Meets credentialing and privileging standards for the specialty, currently board certified.
• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas (or ability to obtain before appointment).
• Demonstrated clinical teaching, evaluation, and communication skills.
• Ability to influence and motivate others at professional and administrative levels.
• Innovative self-starter with commitment to excellence and teamwork.
• Eligible for appointment as assistant professor or higher in Department of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and provide direct care to pediatric cardiac patients before, during, and after surgery.
• Develop and implement care protocols for Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia.
• Oversee QI registries and education, quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Participate in coordinated outreach efforts for the Center.
