The Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin andDell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas (DCMCCT) areseeking experienced pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists to join theTexas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease.
Candidates will possess experience in caring for children withcomplex congenital and acquired heart disease and adults withcongenital heart disease. Primary responsibilities will includeoversight and provision of direct care to patients prior to,during, and after cardiac surgery. Other responsibilities includedeveloping and implementing care protocols, overseeing the QIregistries pertinent to Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia and to overseeeducation, quality assurance and ongoing performance improvementinitiatives. Candidates will also participate in coordinatedoutreach efforts for the Center.
A successful candidate will have an appointment within theDepartment of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery at Dell MedicalSchool, and regular participation in educational activities withmedical students and residents will be expected. Opportunities forcollaboration with medical and adjunct specialties will beencouraged to allow for the pursuit of innovative programdevelopment and clinical research initiatives.
Candidates will be board certified by the American Board ofAnesthesiology in Anesthesia and Pediatric Anesthesia withadditional formal training in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia.
