Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
• Meets applicable credentialing and privileging standards for his/her specialty. Currently Board certified.
• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas(or the ability to obtain prior to appointment).
• Demonstrated clinical teaching, evaluation, and communicationskills.
• Ability to influence/motivate others at all professional andadministrative levels.
• Must be an innovative self-starter with a commitment toexcellence.
• Must possess tenacity, self-motivation and initiative necessaryto perform as part of a team for both established and new programs;demonstrates behaviors of a team player.
• Eligible for appointment as an assistant professor or higher inthe Department of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care before, during, and after pediatric cardiac surgery.
• Develop and implement care protocols; oversee QI registries for Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia; supervise education and QA initiatives.
• Participate in coordinated outreach efforts for the Center.
