Job summary

Nexus Children’s Hospital – Shenandoah is seeking an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to deliver advanced medical care to children and adolescents with complex medical, neurological, rehabilitative, and behavioral health needs. The NP will work with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, and the treatment team to assess conditions and promote continuity of care during hospitalization.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing with NP certification required.
• Current Texas RN license and APRN license as NP.
• National board certification as NP and BLS certification.
• Experience with medically complex pediatric patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic conditions in pediatric patients.
• Provide direct medical care and participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning.
• Prescribe medications per state regulations and hospital policies.
• Coordinate referrals and educate families about diagnoses and care plans.
• Participate in rotating medical call coverage and ensure patient safety.
