Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin’s Dell Medical School, in conjunction with Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, seeks a Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider to join the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to care for regional pediatric patients.

The role requires licensure as PA or APN with prescriptive authority in Cardiac CC and experience with complex congenital heart disease in PCCU.

Qualifications

• Active license as Physician Assistant or Registered Nurse (Texas) and APN with prescriptive authority in Cardiac CC.
• Experience with pediatric congenital/acquired heart disease in PCCU.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and confidentiality in professional settings.

Responsibilities

• Counsels and educates cardiac critical care patients and families about health conditions, treatment options and resources.
• Documents delivery of cardiac critical care and nursing processes per standards and policy.
• Participates in orientation and education of staff and students.
• Obtains cardiac critical care patient history and performs assessments.
• Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies and health assessments.
• Provides direct treatment and management with prescriptive authority; plans discharge.
• Other related duties as assigned.
