Job summary

Garfield Park Behavioral Hospital is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to co-manage inpatient and partial hospital programs, with 24/7 responsibilities and clinical oversight. The role works with the DON to support patient care aligned with the hospital’s mission and philosophy.

The ADON will participate in rotating schedules to provide administrative coverage, develop nursing plans, and ensure safe, high-quality care across units, reporting to the Director of Nursing and supporting staff

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Experience with inpatient psychiatric populations.
• Knowledge of nursing concepts and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and revise the nursing service plan aligned with organizational goals.
• Oversee all aspects of the nursing department and assess performance via input from staff and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with leaders to create staffing plans by unit for safe, effective care.
• Communicate with staff and patients to ensure high-quality nursing care.
