Job summary

Outcome HC is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to supervise and coordinate clinical services at our behavioral health facility in New Jersey. The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse with management and psychiatric experience, strong multitasking skills, and a professional demeanor.

Responsibilities include leading nursing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and integrating services for a continuum of care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (diploma or BSN).
• Currently registered in New Jersey.
• 2+ years of nursing leadership experience.
• Experience supervising and teaching in behavioral health.
• Knowledge of DOH and Federal regulations for behavioral health.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate nursing staff.
• Advanced knowledge of psychotropic medication management.
• Lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Lead units and conduct regular staff meetings to keep nursing staff informed.
• Complete investigations promptly and report to DON and IDCP Team as appropriate.
• Collaborate with all departments to provide optimum care and foster teamwork.
• Monitor nursing staff documentation compliance.
• Coordinate nursing services with other services to provide continuum of care.
• Maintain professional relationships with patients and families regarding care needs.
• Conduct chart audits and ensure MDS 3.0 documentation compliance.
• Delegate/pharmacy consultant reports timely.
• Oversee nursing staff to ensure patient needs are met; conduct daily quality rounds.
• Organize and prioritize daily work and meet project deadlines.
• Monitor and delegate Monthly Re-Caps by unit nurses.
• Review 24 Hr Reports and bring issues to morning meetings for resolution.
• Monitor narcotics counts and equipment testing daily checks.
• Attend meetings related to patient care (nursing management, QA, etc.).
• Monitor admissions/re-admissions documentation and develop treatment plans.
