Job summary

Connecticut Children’s Hospital in Hartford, CT, seeks a registered nurse to provide direct pediatric nursing care within a behavioral health-focused unit. You will apply specialized knowledge to assess, plan, implement, and educate patients and families in partnership with the care team.

Critical requirements include CT RN licensure or NLC, ASN with BSN preferred within 3 years, and BLS/CPR; PALS within 6 months. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to hospital standards on-site.

Qualifications

• ASN required upon hire; BSN preferred within 3 years of hire.
• Current State of Connecticut RN Licensure required or nurse licensure compact (NLC).
• BLS/CPR for adult, child & infant required upon hire and maintained thereafter.
• PALS within 6 months of hire or orientation completion and maintained thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct professional nursing care for pediatric patients throughout the episode of service delivery.
• Apply behavioral health knowledge to patient care and educate patients/families accordingly.
• Foster teamwork and communicate clearly to support patient and family safety.
• Complete all required documentation in a timely manner per policies.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries; delegate to clinical staff as needed.
• Demonstrate Connecticut Children's standards and participate in unit leadership.
