Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for the Texas Behavioral Health Center (TBHC). The role provides onsite primary care and behavioral health services to patients admitted to a new state-funded facility, emphasizing continuity of care and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate has a strong PCP background as an APP, experience in behavioral health or pediatric populations, and a commitment to serving underserved

Qualifications

• Requires APRN/PA credentialing with state licensure and prescriptive authority.
• Strong primary care background as an APP with behavioral health exposure.
• Experience with pediatric populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations appropriate to age and diagnosis.
• Develop and implement patient care plans using evidence-based guidelines.
• Order and interpret labs and imaging as needed.
• Provide counseling and education to patients and families.
• Coordinate care within the interdisciplinary behavioral health team.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
