Job summary

Children’s Wisconsin seeks an Anesthesia Technician to join the operating room team, ensuring timely preparation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies. The role supports the anesthesiologist and other staff in delivering safe patient care.

The position requires knowledge of anesthesia equipment, ability to troubleshoot, and adherence to on-call rotations. This is a hospital-based role with a focus on pediatric and potentially adult patients.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Anesthesia Technology program (A.A.S.) preferred or relevant experience.
• Ability to identify medical equipment problems and apply technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, assembles and monitors supplies such as IV fluids and tubing, catheters, breathing circuits and monitors before anesthetics.
• Sets up, tests, calibrates, and checks anesthesia machines and related equipment; notifies clinical engineering of issues.
• Disassembles, cleans and restocks equipment after each use.
• Assists with intubation and IV insertion when requested by the Anesthesiologist.
• Maintains intravenous fluids as directed by the anesthesiologist.
• May witness blood and blood products as a second role.
